Artist Statement
Paul HalleyJune 2026
While I work across distinct creative disciplines, the title of 'artist' is the single architecture that encompasses all my creative interests.
As a producer of original projects since I was 13 years old, my creative process starts with a vision: I envision not only the final production but the entire architecture required to build it. Because no project exists in a vacuum, my strength lies in marshalling forces from the ground up—recruiting the precise talent, guidance, and collaborative energy needed to bring an idea to life. My portfolio is a testament to these large-scale, collective efforts, showcasing original productions fueled by a community of artists and leaders who believed in a shared vision.
Beneath the scale of these productions lies the foundational craft of writing. For me, the most vital aspect of writing is the pursuit of voice. Because no two people articulate the human experience in the exact same way, I treat the text as the authentic, irreplaceable blueprint that guides the entire collaborative team toward a shared truth.
As a performer—a role I have inhabited longer than any other—my purpose is not to play pretend, but to play truth. Whether I am embodying a complex character, reading creative prose to a live room, or presenting on a technical topic, performance is an act of translation. I take the raw, unfiltered truth anchored within the text and expel it onto the audience. For me, the stage or the microphone is a conduit where the written word becomes an unavoidable, visceral reality.
People die, businesses fail, relationships dissipate, societal values change, and the stock market fluctuates—but art remains the only thing I know that knows how to live forever.
All best in art & creativity,
Paul Halley
